“Caribbean Riddims” is the primary media outlet for the Riddims Marketing Network. The website - www.caribbeanriddims.com - is now being used to expand our reach. For more than twenty years, Eddy Edwards has produced and hosted a radio program mixing Caribbean 'riddims' - Reggae, Calypso, Zouk and Soca, with news and interviews. The show is aired on WKAT 1360 AM from 3:30 to 6 PM on Saturday. The 10,000 watt signal of WKAT 1360 AM covers the tri-county area of Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach and extends south to the Upper Keys and east to the Bahamas. The station format is news and talk for an African-American audience.
On Saturday, independent programming features Caribbean personalities Don Daly (9:30 AM to 12:30 PM), Mike Andrews (12:30 PM to 3:30 PM), Eddy Edwards (3:30 PM to 6 PM) and Marlon Hill (6 PM to 7 PM). The ten hour block of Caribbean programming from Eddy (left), Don (center), Mike and Marlon (below) gives Caribbean Saturday impact in South Florida.
WKAT 1360 AM has the potential to reach more than 500,000 residents of Caribbean descent, an educated audience that is loyal and economically powerful. It also reaches many non-Caribbean people who tune in because they simply like the 'riddims' of the islands. And now, there is the potential of a global market because WKAT can be accessed on the internet. Eddy Edwards is a leader in South Florida’s Caribbean community.
