An immigrant from the Bahamas who arrived in the U.S. at the age of 16, Cherasard’s story is one of resilience and hard work. She earned her Master’s degree in Public Administration and achieved the American Dream when she purchased her first home in Miramar in 2010. Since then, she has built a life deeply rooted in the community, alongside her husband Roland, 10-year-old son Jay R., and her mother Judith.
Cherasard began her career as a civil servant, working for the Florida Department of Health and Social Security Administration, where she advocated for individuals with compassion, ensuring they were treated with dignity and respect. Her professional journey then expanded into real estate as a licensed professional, investor, and Governor of the Broward Miami Association of Realtors, where she has become a trusted voice in property valuations, home building, and repairs.
Her commitment to Miramar runs deep. As a member of Miramar’s Affordable Housing Committee, Cherasard has worked tirelessly to create opportunities for families to achieve homeownership and maintain stability. In addition, as the current president of the Kiwanis Club of East Pines Miramar, she leads impactful initiatives to empower youth, support seniors, and assist families in need.
