The Florida launch of Sheribaby, Sharon Gordon’s compelling novel, at the Island SPACE Museum on May 29th was a momentous occasion that highlighted identity, trauma, and empowerment through the journey of a spirited young girl in post-independence Jamaica.

The event was made possible through the partnership of Island SPACE Caribbean Museum. Owners Calibe Thompson and David Muir welcomed guests and spoke about the museum’s purpose. Jamaica’s Consul General Oliver Mair also offered opening comments, urging everyone to purchase a copy of the book.

Terrel Blackett of Supreme Dynasties Enterprise hosted the event, which was skillfully moderated by Marketing Executive and Miramar Commissioner, Carson “Eddy” Edwards. As Edwards posed insightful questions, Gordon revealed fascinating details about the characters and her writing process, further enriching the audience’s understanding of Sheribaby. Gordon also captivated attendees by reading several excerpts from the novel, bringing her narrative to life.
