In a Commission Meeting held on Wednesday, May 20, resolution #R7183 was presented by Commissioner Colbourne opposing the City Managers decision to furlough employees and directing the City Manager to use the City’s reserves to address financial conditions as result of the COVID 19 pandemic.
In a recent interview, Commissioner Colbourne stated, “The City has adequate reserve funds to sustain the City through the end of the Fiscal Year. There is no need to furlough employees. To ensure the safety of our residents, we must protect our first responders and our public service employees who are responding every day to help our city residents and business deal with the COVID 19 crisis.”
