New York, August 29, 2024 – “I survived 9/11 not once, but twice,” says Oral Patrick, a Jamaican-born consultant, engineer, and former employee of the World Trade Center. “The first time by being fired from my job; the second time by overcoming severe health issues after exposure to the Ground Zero site.”
Patrick recounts his remarkable journey from narrowly escaping death on September 10, 2001, by losing his job just one day before the attacks, to battling multiple health issues after volunteering at the site in his new book, Restorative Healing Begins With Rest: Overcoming Breathing Difficulties and PTSD After 9/11 Exposure. Co-authored by his daughter Deborah Patrick, the book details his transformation from illness to health through holistic healing methods.
Restorative Healing Begins With Rest chronicles Patrick’s health struggles, including respiratory problems, skin rashes, and prediabetes, following months of volunteer service at Ground Zero. Conventional treatments failed to improve his condition, leading him to explore natural healing techniques. Through rest, meditation, and lifestyle changes, Patrick successfully restored his health.
Born in Old Harbour, Jamaica, Patrick moved to the U.S. with his family in pursuit of the American dream. His story includes his challenges adjusting to life in America, and his unexpected brush with death at the World Trade Center, where he worked as a Computer Systems Engineer on the 83rd floor of One World Trade Center until he was fired on September 10, 2001.
Patrick shares his methods for restoring health by resting the body, mind, and spirit: “Rest isn’t just about sleep; it’s about removing negative influences and allowing the body to heal naturally.”
Restorative Healing Begins With Rest is available now in hardcover, paperback, and audiobook formats on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Audible. For more information, visit www.oralpatrick.com.
