Miramar, FL  – Despite not being staged this year, Jerk Festivals in three cities emerged winners in the recent Best of Jamaica 2020 survey, released on Saturday, December 5, by Jamaicans.com. The Best of Jamaica is Jamacians.com annual survey which is their most popular feature each year. Thousands of readers and subscribers voted online from various regions of the U.S. and other cities worldwide.

Readers are asked to vote on “What is the best of Jamaica?” as it relates to Jamaican food, music and culture on the island and in major cities across the United States, Canada, and Europe that boast large populations of Jamaican nationals.

In response to the question “The Jamaican/Caribbean Annual 2020 Event You Missed Attending the Most Due To COVID-19?” Jerk Festivals in Ft. Lauderdale, Boston and Washington emerged winners in that category. “We are truly honored and excited to be voted winners,” stated Eddy Edwards, CEO of the Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival in Miramar, Florida. “This is a true testament to the impact and value of the jerk festivals in our community and we are extremely grateful to be recognized and look forward to being live again in the near future,” said Edwards.

The Best of Jamaica survey has been around since 1994.  However, this year due to COVID 19 the survey had to be tremendously scaled back and took on a different format. The Jamaicans.com team along with influencers in each city review and vets the survey results to verify winners.  A full list of the “Best of Jamaica 2020” results can be viewed on Jamacians.com
