South Florida’s own Kulture Klothes is set to bring vibrant cultural flair to Stylin’ 2025 – Fi Wi Roots. Fi Wi Culture. – a two-day celebration of Caribbean style, music, comedy, and heritage honoring Miss Lou’s 106th birthday, at the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center, September 20–21. Known as a go-to source for Afrocentric fashion in the region, Kulture Klothes has built a loyal following for its bold, print-driven designs and commitment to cultural pride.
Founded by Maisie McNaught, Kulture Klothes began as a labor of love, blending traditional African and Caribbean fabrics with modern silhouettes. Later joined by her daughter Kimberly, the dynamic duo brings together generational perspectives: Maisie’s seasoned craftsmanship and cultural grounding alongside Kimberly’s fresh, contemporary edge that resonates with younger audiences.
Recently, the brand faced a major challenge when a devastating fire forced them to relocate, but the spirit and dedication to their special brand of fashion remained unshaken. Today, they continue to serve as one of South Florida’s premier cultural fashion houses, offering a range of styles from statement dresses to everyday wear for those seeking a truly Afrocentric aesthetic.
Kulture Klothes’ designs are instantly recognizable: vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and silhouettes that honor tradition while embracing modern style. Their collections have graced numerous cultural showcases, proving that Afrocentric fashion has a place both on the runway and in everyday life.
At Stylin’ 2025, Kulture Klothes will take the stage alongside internationally acclaimed designer Hope Wade of Hope Wade Designs (NYC) and emerging talent Camila Nina-Simone Davis of Bad Gyal Brukins (South Florida). The two-day extravaganza will also feature the scintillating music of Eugene Grey & Band with vocalist Yishka, comedic performances by Sophia Nicholson and Ricky Rowe, folk traditions from the Jamaican Folk Revue and Tallawah Mento Band, and the always delightful Ring Ding Kids. A special appearance by 19-year-old Zaila Jazz, a fast-rising reggae soul singer who has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the Jamaican music industry, will provide a special treat. Hosting the celebration are beloved personalities Suzette Speaks, Jody-Ann Grey, and Sir Rockwell.
Presented by the Louise Bennett-Coverley Heritage Council in partnership with the city of Lauderhill, this first-of-its-kind event promises a cultural showcase like no other — a fusion of fashion, music, comedy, and heritage in honor of Jamaica’s cultural matriarch, Miss Lou.
