VM Building Society (VMBS) will host a special diaspora-focused community outreach event on Friday, February 21, 2026, catered to Jamaicans in and around Ocala, Florida.  The outreach event will take place at the Marion Oaks Community Center, located at 294 Marion Oaks Lane, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

With the theme “Your Jamaican Dream Starts Here,” it is being held in partnership with Integrated Diaspora Services (IDS) and is designed to provide Jamaicans living in Florida with convenient access to financial and civic services in one location, while strengthening their connection to opportunities back home.

From VMBS, participants will receive guidance on opening a VM savings account, mortgage pre-qualification for the purchase of property in Jamaica, and account updates and general inquiries. They will also have the opportunity to learn more about the VM Hometastic Promotion, a pathway designed to support homeownership aspirations for Jamaicans locally and abroad, giving them a chance to win cash prizes as well as and a 2-bedroom in St. Catherine, Jamaica.

As it relates to the Jamaican diaspora, the event will feature access to a suite of services including passport renewal, TRN and birth certificate processing, driver’s license renewal, and assistance with property and land title matters—making it easier for Jamaicans overseas to manage essential documentation and affairs related to Jamaica.

Attendees interested in accessing any of the services on the day should take along a valid form of identification, including TRN, SSN, SIN or TIN, along with proof of address and proof of income.

Encouraging members of the Jamaican diaspora in Florida to come out and take advantage of the outreach, Suzette Rochester-Lloyd, Chief Representative Officer at the VM Florida Representative Office, said the event directly reflects how VM views its role in serving Jamaicans overseas.

“At VM, we see our role as more than providing financial services — we see ourselves as a bridge between Jamaicans in the diaspora and home. Florida is home to a strong and vibrant Jamaican community, one that remains deeply connected to Jamaica despite the distance. Through initiatives like VM on the Move, we create opportunities for our members to maintain and strengthen those ties, whether financial or otherwise. These engagements allow persons to access accurate information, complete essential documentation, and take meaningful steps to preserve their citizenship, invest in property, and continue building their dreams back home, no matter where they reside,” Rochester-Lloyd shared.

Interested persons are encouraged to RSVP to set an appointment for a smoother experience on the day.  For additional information, individuals may call (305) 770-2643 or send an email to floridarepresentativeoffice@myvmgroup.com.
