Miramar, FL., September 23, 2025 – The City of Miramar will proudly welcome the Campion Dance Society by invitation from Commissioner Carson ‘Eddy’ Edwards, from October 15–19, 2025 at the Miramar Cultural Center, 2400 Civic Center Place, in celebration of Jamaica’s National Heroes Day. The visit continues a vibrant cultural partnership with South Florida, following the troupe’s successful 2023 tour that featured interactive workshops at the YMCA in Downtown Fort Lauderdale.

Recognized as one of Jamaica’s top high school dance troupes, the Campion Dance Society will represent Jamaica on the international stage through a dynamic series of performances and cultural exchange activities. This year’s expanded program includes school outreach, interactive workshops, and the highly anticipated staging of the company’s 15th anniversary international production, Vibrations. The performance features signature works such as Cry of Africa, Skin Deep, Misogyny, and Jamaica Love, alongside new choreography that reflects the company’s evolving artistic voice.

Commissioner Carson “Eddy” Edwards underscored the significance of this ongoing cultural partnership saying, “We are excited to welcome the Campion Dance Society to Miramar. This cultural exchange strengthens ties between our residents and Jamaica, and we are proud to support its continuation. Vibrations traces the roots of Caribbean identity and its global influence, taking audiences on a journey from Africa to Jamaica and across the world.”

Campion Dance Society members also dance with Jamaica’s leading companies, including the National Dance Theatre Company (NDTC), L’Acadco: A United Caribbean Dance Force, The Company Dance Theatre (CDT), and BEAM Theatre Arts Company. Their collective experience ensures that Vibrations will deliver artistry of the highest caliber.

Artistic Director Dwright Wright added, “We are thrilled to return to South Florida and especially Miramar, not only to perform, but to share and learn. Vibrations celebrate the roots and global impact of our culture, and our dancers are eager to connect with students, build bridges, and continue growing through the arts.”

The anticipated performance, Vibrations will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025 at 8:00pm at the Miramar Cultural Center. Tickets: Available now at MiramarCulturalCenter.org or call the box office at 954-602-4500.
