Miami, FL – The Caribbean community in South Florida mourns the loss of Don Daly, a prominent radio personality, businessman, and philanthropist, who passed away on March 21, 2025, at the age of 74. Born in St. Mary, Jamaica, Daly’s remarkable journey began on September 4, 1950. His dedication to uplifting and uniting the Caribbean diaspora through broadcasting and community initiatives has left an indelible legacy.

A graduate of St. Mary High School and SUNY: Stonybrook University, Daly made waves in the broadcasting world with the launch of the “Conscious Rhythm” radio show in 1986 on WVCG 1080 am. The program, later renamed “The Caribbean Upliftment Program,” became a cornerstone for connecting Caribbean culture with South Florida and beyond.

Eddy Edwards, Daly’s longtime colleague and friend, shared heartfelt reflections on their years of collaboration:
“Don’s passion for broadcasting was unparalleled. He didn’t just host a show—he created a platform that amplified Caribbean voices and shared our stories with the world. His enthusiasm, wisdom, and authenticity inspired everyone who had the privilege to work alongside him.”

“Don was a trailblazer,” Edwards added. “He led with vision, heart, and determination, always striving to make a difference in people’s lives.”

Throughout his career, Daly earned accolades from notable figures, including Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden, the Jamaican Government, and countless community recognitions. Despite his achievements, Daly remained grounded, finding joy in giving back and creating opportunities for others.

He is survived by his wife, Alreca; children, Danika and Yannick; sisters, Monica Robinson and Clover Daly; granddaughter, Harper; and numerous family members and friends.
