Miami, FL – The Jamaican Women of Florida (JWOF) eagerly announces its forthcoming Women’s Empowerment Conference scheduled for Saturday, March 23, 2024. Set against the picturesque backdrop of the Marriott Harbor Bay Resort & Spa, the event will unfold from 8:30 am to 4 pm. This significant gathering, coinciding with Women’s History Month, aims to ignite inspiration, foster empowerment, and honor the outstanding achievements of women, with a special spotlight on Jamaican women. With JWOF commemorating its 11th year, the organization remains steadfast in its dedication to community outreach, education, and mentorship.

A distinguished roster of speakers headlines this year’s conference, including luminaries such as Dr. Camelia Lawrence, Tessanne Chin, Cindy Breakspeare, and Sara Misir, each a trailblazer in her respective field. Renowned international speaker Cathy Goodall will lend her dynamic and engaging presence as the emcee for the event.

Janice McIntosh, President of JWOF, shares her excitement for the upcoming conference, remarking, “This gathering underscores the strength, resilience, and influence of women. As we celebrate Women’s History Month and JWOF’s 11th anniversary, we are reminded of the profound impact women have on our world. We take pride in providing a platform for empowerment and inspiration, and we extend an open invitation to all to join us in this celebration.”

JWOF’s commitment to philanthropy remains unwavering, with a history of supporting both local and international charities. Recently, the organization contributed US$12,000 towards a transition home for residents of Melody House, a Home for Girls, offering assistance after they reach 18 years old. Additionally, JWOF actively champions local initiatives such as Food for the Poor, Broward Diaper Drive, Feeding the Homeless, Women in Distress, and the Broward Suit Drive.

The Women’s Empowerment Conference offers a unique opportunity for individuals to convene, absorb insights from influential speakers, and contribute to a noble cause. JWOF encourages attendees to secure their seats early and to consider making donations in support of its ongoing endeavors in education, mentorship, and community service.
